With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with Challenges.  It takes a Village ia a literacy development program that offers two components.

 Peer tutoring and Afani Book Club.

Peer tutoring offers literacy development training free to clients who meet the criteria of the program. Clients are matched with a mentor that will help in literacy development and  setting important educational and life long goals. Our mentoring programs will pair individuals with a mentor for 12 months during that time the two will participate in weekly planned activities to strengthen personal relationships while improving literacy skills,confidence and hopefulness. Mentors will receive continuous training throughout the year and will participate in monthly meetings to report clients progress.

Afani Book Club is a book club for all women  that will help create life long bonds with one another and support each other with everyday challenges while discovering new and old literature of all genres while sharing a love for reading while supporting one another in becoming leaders of the community.
